About

The Clayfulness Story

Clayfulness Therapy was developed by Dr Bettina Stevanovic, PhD, drawing on her background in psychology and years of embodied work with clay.

"I was already immersed in clay through my Wheelfulness pottery wheel practice when I discovered the therapeutic potential of freeform claywork.  This happened while working with children who were too young to use the wheel. As I freely shaped the clay with them, I was invited into a different world. A world of imagination, playfulness, and intuitive creativity. A world where I connected with my own inner child. I developed Clayfulness Therapy with the intention to offer adults a similar experience, where they can slow down, wonder, and discover parts of themselves that are quietly waiting to be seen."

The Clayful Way

Shaping the self through somatic and symbolic claywork

Embodied Mindfulness

Clayfulness sessions begin with a guided sequence of hands-on clay meditation to help you settle into your body and deepen your somatic awareness.

Intuitive Sculpting

From this relaxed and receptive space, you’re invited to shape the clay intuitively, creating abstract or figural forms that emerge organically through your hands.

Psychodynamic Reflection

To support integration, you will be guided to engage with your clay creation through a psychodynamic process that involves active imagination and journaling.

In-person or Online

In-person sessions are held at our relaxing studio space in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs. Online sessions are available via Zoom for those who can source their own clay and set up a suitable workspace.
